Anastasia Beverly Hills markets this five-piece kit as an effective way to shape and maintain your eyebrows at home. The company makes the following claims. Precision Tweezers should pluck even fine hairs without harming delicate skin. The Brow Powder Duo is touted as smudge-proof, yet easily blendable. Brow Stencils supposedly create attractive brows in one of five different shapes. The Mini Duo Brush helps blend color into the brow. Last, Clear Brow Gel should manage hairs without stickiness or flaking. While some of these pieces perform very well, others are not worth the high price of this kit.
The Brow Kit has numerous positive attributes. The tweezers pluck the smallest hairs down to the root and do not cause pain. The variety of Brow Duo colors allows customers to find the "perfect" shade for their hair colors. Since each compact includes two shades, the colors can be used alone or blended for a natural shade. The powder lasts all day and stays in place, yet removes easily. The Duo Brush provides natural, precision application. While some eyebrow pencils and gels look like makeup, rather than real hair, this kit provides a natural look.
However, there are two significant downsides to this kit. This tester found the brow stencils difficult to use and did not see professional-looking, well-shaped brows after completing the process. A trip to the salon for initial shaping, then home maintenance with the kit, would be easier. Second, while the Clear Brow Gel keeps brows in place all day long, the formula tends to become white and flaky during the day, particularly when brows are touched or scratched with a finger.
Overall, while there are numerous benefits to the kit, two of the five pieces do not perform well. Thus, the kit is not worth the high price.
